Described is an absorbent article having a liquid-permeable cover (12), a liquid-impermeable baffle (14), an absorbent (16) therebetween, and a resilient member (18) positioned along at least one longitudinal side of the absorbent article. The absorbent article further includes a tensioning means (40) which imparts an arcuate shape to the absorbent article. The tensioning device can be positioned along a portion of the upper most surface of the resilient member (18).

L'invention concerne un article absorbant comportant une couverture perméable aux liquides (12), une cloison imperméable aux liquides (14), une région absorbante (16) située entre ces dernières et un élément élastique (18) placé le long d'un coté longitudinal, au moins, de l'article absorbant. Celui-ci comporte, de surcroît, un organe tendeur (40) qui lui confère une forme arquée. Le dispositif tendeur peut se situer le long d'une partie de la face supérieure de l'élément élastique (18).
