An optical system (20) projects light into a planar optical display (10). The display includes laminated optical waveguides (12) defining an inlet face (14) at one end and an outlet screen (16) at an opposite end. A first mirror (26) collimates light from a light source (18) along a first axis, and distributes the light along a second axis. A second mirror (28) collimates the light from the first mirror along the second axis to illuminate the inlet face and produce an image on the screen.

La présente invention concerne un système optique (20) qui projette la lumière sur une zone d'affichage plane (10). La zone d'affichage comprend des guides d'onde optique stratifiés (12) qui définissent une face d'entrée (14) sur l'une des extrémités et un écran de sortie (16) sur l'extrémité opposée. Un premier miroir (26) collimate la lumière provenant d'une source lumineuse (18) selon un premier axe, et répartit la lumière selon un second axe. Un second miroir (28) collimate la lumière provenant du premier miroir selon le second axe. Ce faisant, il éclaire la face d'entrée et produit une image sur l'écran.
