The thin-film electroluminescent device of the present invention comprises a thin film of a polyoxadiazole derivative represented by the formula: (see fig. I) wherein each of X0 and Y0 independently represents a divalent organic group which may comprise a silicon atom, and n is an integer of 2 or greater, formed as an electroluminescent layer or a charge injecting/transporting layer between electrodes, at least one thereof being transparent. This thin-film electroluminescent device is excellent not only in electroluminescence and capability of charge injection/transport to thereby ensure high light emission efficiency but also in durability such as heat resistance.
Le dispositif électroluminescent à pellicule mince de la présente invention comprend une mince pellicule d'un dérivé de polyoxadiazole - représenté par la formule (voir fig. I), où chaque X0 et Y0 représente indépendamment un groupe organique divalent pouvant renfermer un atome de silicium, n étant un entier de 2 ou plus -, formée comme une couche électroluminescente ou une couche d'injection/transport de charge entre les électrodes, au moins l'une de ces couches étant transparente. Ce dispositif électroluminescent à pellicule mince est excellent non seulement du point de vue de l'électroluminescence et de la capacité d'injection/transport de charge, fournissant ainsi un haut rendement d'émission lumineuse, mais également de la durabilité, notamment de la résistance thermique.
