A method of forming an electrochemical cell (50) is disclosed. The method comprises contacting a negative pole layer (52) and a positive pole layer one with the other or with an optional layer interposed therebetween. The pole layers and the optional layer therebetween are selected so as to self-form an interfacial separator layer (56) between the pole layers upon such contacting.

L'invention concerne une cellule (50) électrochimique et un procédé consistant à faire entrer en contact une couche (52) formant un pôle négatif et une couche (54) formant un pôle positif en intercalant éventuellement une troisième couche entre les deux couches polaires. Les couches polaires et la couche facultative sont choisies de manière à former spontanément une couche (56) séparatrice entre les couches polaires une fois qu'elles sont mises en contact les unes avec les autres.
