Proposed is a thixotropic agent for alkyd resins comprising the reaction product of an alkyd resin and a poly(ester)amide obtained by reacting a polycarboxylic acid with a compound of the formula: Xm-R-Yn, wherein R stands for an organic group having at least 2 carbon atoms, X and Y may be the same or different and stand for a primary or secondary amino group or a hydroxyl group, and m and n are each at least equal to 1, with at least 50 mole% of the polycarboxylic acid being a dimeric fatty acid having at least 36 carbon atoms, wherein in at least 25 mole% of the compound of the formula: Xm-R-Yn R stands for a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms and X and Y may be the same or different and stand for a primary or secondary amino group, and in at most 75 mole% of the compound of said formula R stands for a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic group having 2 to 54 carbon atoms, an araliphatic group having 7 to 18 carbon atoms and/or an aromatic or cycloaliphatic group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms.
L'invention concerne un agent thixotropique pour résines alkyde comprenant le produit de réaction d'une résine alkyde et d'un poly(ester)amide, obtenu par réaction d'un acide polycarboxylique avec un composé de formule X¿m?-R-Y¿n?, dans laquelle R représente un groupe organique possédant au moins 2 atomes de carbone, X et Y peuvent être identiques ou différents et représentent un groupe amino primaire ou secondaire ou un groupe hydroxyle, et m et n sont chacun au moins égaux à 1. Au moins 50 % en moles de l'acide polycarboxylique sont un acide gras dimère comprenant au moins 36 atomes de carbone, et dans au moins 25 % en moles du composé de formule X¿m?-R-Y¿n?, R forme un groupe aromatique substitué ou non substitué comprenant de 6 à 18 atomes de carbone et X et Y peuvent être identiques ou différents et représentent un groupe amino primaire ou secondaire, et dans au moins 75 % en moles du composé de ladite formule, R représente un groupe aliphatique substitué ou non substitué comprenant de 2 à 54 atomes de carbone, un groupe aliphatique comprenant de 7 à 18 atomes de carbone et/ou un groupe aromatique ou cycloaliphatique comprenant de 6 à 18 atomes de carbone.
