The present invention relates to a thread joint of steel for percussive drilling wherein flushing water is used, comprising at least one substantially cylindrical external thread as well as a substantially cylindrical internal thread (12). The external thread is provided on a spigot (13) intended to constitute an integral part of a first drill string component. The threads (12) comprise thread flanks (16, 17; 18, 19) and thread roots (20; 21) provided between the flanks. The thread roots (20) of the cylindrical external thread are provided substantially distant from associated crests (22) of the cylindrical internal thread (12). By coating the thread roots (20) of the cylindrical external thread with at least one layer of a material of lower electrode potential than the steel, said layer being made from metals like aluminum, zinc and magnesium or alloys of these, an increased life length for the threaded connection is obtained.

La présente invention concerne un raccord fileté en acier pour forage par percussion à chasse d'eau. Ledit raccord comprend au moins un filetage externe sensiblement cylindrique et un filetage interne (12) sensiblement cylindrique. Le filetage externe est réalisé sur un goujon (13) conçu pour faire partie intégrante d'un composant du premier train de tiges de forage. Le filetage (12) comprend également des flancs (16, 17; 18,19) et des fonds (20; 21) de filet situés entre lesdits flancs. Les fonds (20) de filet du filetage externe cylindrique sont sensiblement éloignées des crêtes (22) associées du filetage interne (12) cylindrique. Le fait de recouvrir les fonds (20) de filet du filetage externe cylindrique d'au moins une couche d'un matériau dont le potentiel d'électrode est inférieur à celui de l'acier, ladite couche étant constituée de métaux tels que l'aluminium, le zinc et le magnésium ou d'alliages de ces métaux, permet d'obtenir un raccord fileté à durée de vie prolongée.
