ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An intermediate thread supply apparatus for textile machinery of the type having a thread drum from which the thread is taken off over a rim. The apparatus is provided with take-off thread guide having the shape of a hook and disposed at the periph- ery of the rim, said hook being open in the direction of rotation of the thread drum. The thread guide can be pivoted into operative position when positive supply of thread is required. Alternatively, the hook can be turned out of its operative position to provide for intermittent feed wherein the thread is taken off over the rim without passing through the hook.
