ABSTRACT A structural joint is disclosed which is comprised of a relatively thin workpiece and an externally threaded fastener having a cup shaped flange with the workpiece being drawn into clamp engagement therewith. The cup shaped configuration of the flange opens toward the threaded shank of the fastener with the rim thereof partially overlaping the thread on the shank. The depth of the cup shaped configuration is shallow and is maintained at a predetermined depth such that upon attainment of the structural joint, the workpiece material is drawn interiorly of the cup shaped flange and into wedged engagement with the base surface of said flange to inhibit enlargement of the aperture in the workpiece.
