A vacuum/blower sheave (32) on the end of the lower calender roll of a papermak- ing machine threads a tissue web tail from a Yankee dryer to a take-up reel through the cal- ender (22). The sheave is positioned adjacent to the outlet of the threader tube (50) from the Yankee dryer, where the vacuum portion of the sheave picks up the tail (30) and trans- ports it towards the take-up reel. Upon tran- siting the closed nip of the calender, the tail is blown by a short blowing section on the sheave into the tube threader which leads to the take-up reel.

Une roue sous vide/de soufflage (32) située à l'extrémité du rouleau de calandre inférieur d'une machine à papier assure le guidage de l'extrémité arrière d'une bande de papier de soie provenant d'un séchoir tambour pour bandes continues vers une bobine réceptrice, à travers la calandre (22). Cette roue est adjacente à la sortie du tube de guidage (50) provenant du séchoir, où la partie sous vide de la roue saisit la bande (30) et la transporte jusqu'à la bobine réceptrice. Lors du passage de la bande au niveau de la ligne de contact de la calandre, la bande est soufflée par une section de soufflage prévue sur la roue pour être introduite dans le dispositif de guidgae conduisant à la bobine réceptrice.
