A method for creating a three-dimensionally printed image, in which an image is printed on a base by an ink-jet printer (9), an underlying material is applied to the printed image (11) to form an uneven surface (12) corresponding to the printed mage, and the same image as the printed image is again printed at the same place on the formed uneven surface (12) by the ink-jet printer (9).
