TITLE Three-Liquid-Phase Epoxidation of Perfluoroolefins ABSTRACT A process for converting a perfluoroolefin to its epoxide by agitation at reaction conditions that maintain three liquid phases - an aqueous phase containing hypohalite ions, an epoxide phase containing the bulk of the epoxide and essentially no catalyst, a reaction phase comprising an organic liquid in which the a phase transfer catalyst is soluble and in which there is a higher affinity for the perfluoroolefin than for its epoxide (partition coefficient greater than 1.3).
