A three piece golf ball (1) has a center compression in the range of about 40 PGA to 60 PGA, a center (5) weight in the range of about 27.5 grams to 28.5 grams, a core (6) compression in the range of about 60 PGA to 80 PGA, a core weight in the range of about 34.5 grams to 35.5 grams, a cover (2) hardness in the range of 63 to 69 Shore D, and an ionomer cover composition wherein the ionomer mixture comprises a blend of about 75 % by weight of a high resilience ionomer and about 25 % by weight of a very low modulus ionomer. In addition, the present invention provides a golf ball (1) having a plurality of dimples (200, 202, 204), of about 402 in number, arranged on its outer surface, selected from two sets of dimples, the first set having a single radius cross section, and the second set having a dual radius cross section. The dimple configuration of the instant invention is based on the geometry of a rhombicosadodecahedron. A ball having such characteristics exhibits superior distance performance without compromising shot-making feel.
Cette invention se rapporte à une balle de golf du type trois pièces (1), présentant une compression de centre comprise entre environ 40 PGA et 60 PGA, un poids au centre (5) compris entre environ 27,5 grammes et 28,5 grammes, une compression de noyau (6) comprise entre environ 60 PGA et 80 PGA, un poids de noyau compris entre environ 34,5 grammes et 35,5 grammes, une dureté d'enveloppe (2) comprise entre 63 et 69 Shore D, et une composition d'enveloppe en ionomère, le mélange ionomère contenant une combinaison d'environ 75 % en poids d'un ionomère à forte élasticité et environ 25 % en poids d'un ionomère à module très bas. Cette invention se rapporte en outre à une balle de golf (1) comportant plusieurs alvéoles (200, 202, 204), au nombre d'environ 402, disposées sur sa surface extérieure, sélectionnées parmi deux groupes d'alvéoles, le premier groupe ayant une section transversale à un seul rayon et le second groupe ayant une section transversale à double rayon. La configuration des alvéoles de cette balle de golf se base sur la géométrie d'un dodécaèdre rhomboïdal. Une balle possédant ces caractéristiques présente des performances de distance supérieures sans altérer le toucher.
