ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is provided in a printing machine having a ribbon guide, an arrangement effective to move the ribbon guide, and thus also the ribbon to any one of three guide positions. This arrangement comprises two armature carrying levers which are pivotally mounted about a fulcrum located between the two ends of respective lever and two magnets arranged to co-act with the curvatures. One end of each lever is moveably guided in a respective guide means arranged on the ribbon guide, whilst the other end of each lever is biassed by a spring. Each guide means has the form of a substantially L-shaped slot, so that upon move- ment of one end of a lever in one direction, the end of the other lever guided in said slot moves in a direction substantially at right angles to said one direction. The advantage afforded by the arrangement of the respective springs and slots is that the ribbon guide is reliably held in the position to which it is moved.
