Compositions comprising thrombin and methods of preparing them are disclosed. The composition may be in the form of an aqueous solution at pH 5.7 - 7.4 consisting essentially of 0.1 mg/mL to 5.0 mg/mL thrombin, 2% to 4% (w/v) sucrose, 3.5% to 5% (w/v) mannitol, 50 mM to 300 mM NaCl, 0-5mM CaCl2, 0.03% to 1% (w/v) of a surfactant or high-molecular-weight polyethylene glycol, and a physiologically acceptable buffer, or may be in lyophilized form.

L'invention concerne des compositions qui renferment de la thrombine et des procédés d'élaboration correspondants. Ce type de composition peut se présenter sous la forme d'une solution aqueuse au pH compris entre 5,7 et 7,4 comprenant essentiellement entre 0,1 mg/mL et 5 mg/mL de thrombine, de 2 % à 4 % (w/v) de sucrose, de 3,5 % à 5 % (w/v) de mannitol, de 50 mM à 300 mM de NaCl, de 0 à 5 mM de CaCl2, de 0,03 % à 1 % (w/v) de tensioactif à polyéthylène glycol de poids haut poids moléculaire, et un tampon physiologiquement acceptable, ou bien ladite composition peut se présenter sous forme lyophilisée..
