ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel thrombolytic proteins having an amino acid sequence similar to that of natural human tissue plasminogen activator, in which at least one asparagine-linked oligosaccharide chain is attached to a sequence in its epidermal growth factor domain; DNA molecules that code for the amino acid sequences of the novel thrombolytic proteins; and process for producing proteins which comprises introducing the DNA molecule into an expression vector capable of establishing itself in host cells that allow addition of asparagine-linked oligosaccharide chain, transforming said host cells by said expression vector, culturing the transformants thus obtained under conditions that allow expression of said DNA molecule, thereby producing the corresponding protein, and recovering the protein from the culture liquor; and further, agents for the treatment of thrombotic diseases comprising a therapeutically effective amount of the protein and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 58
