THROTTLED INPUT CATALYST SYSTEM Abstract of the Disclosure Air input to a diesel engine is controlled so that less air input occurs at low loads than occurs at high loads. This assures that the engine exhaust is kept at a relatively high temperature. The relatively high temperature exhaust is passed to a catalytic reactor which has a catalyst therein which is only effective at such a high temperature. In this manner pollutants in the exhaust are reduced and most particularly pollutants at low load operation of the engine are reduced. To accomplish this flow into the engine is restricted proportional to the load of the engine. - 1 -
