ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A flexible tube injector is mounted for limited vertical movement within a frame and a piston and cylin- der assembly is operatively connected between the frame and the injector and is operatively connected to a pres- sure gauge which may be calibrated to read pounds pres- sure of thrust and/or pounds pressure of tension. As the injector applies downward pressure on the flexible drill tubing, the pressure is indicated on the gauge so that the optimum drilling pressure is maintained and ex- cess pressure is avoided. When withdrawing the drilling string, the tension measuring gauge enables the operator to ensure that the drill bit is being withdrawn cleanly and is not jamming within the drill hole.
