The thumb is used on a hydraulic tool arm equipped with a scooping tool for selective co-operation between the scooping tool and the thumb. The thumb has a pair of generally parallel U-shaped lateral forks defining an opening therebetween for engagement of the tool arm between the forks. The forks define an inner end having a transverse coupling member for operative coupling of the thumb to the tool arm for movement of the thumb about the tool arm, and an outer free end opposite the inner end. The forks are significantly curved about a common axis.

Mâchoire utilisée sur un bras d'outil hydraulique doté d'un outil de ramassage qui permet d'assurer la coopération sélective entre l'outil de ramassage et la mâchoire. La mâchoire comporte une paire de branches latérales généralement parallèles formant une fourche en U et délimitant une ouverture pour l'insertion du bras d'outil dans la fourche. Les branches délimitent une extrémité intérieure dotée d'un élément de couplage transversal permettant le couplage opérationnel de la mâchoire et du bras d'outil pour que la mâchoire puisse bouger autour de l'axe du bras d'outil, ainsi qu'une extrémité extérieure libre opposée à l'extrémité intérieure. Les branches sont fortement courbées selon un axe commun.
