The invention concerns stabilized Ti-Sn-O nanoclusters formed by complexation of Ti-Sn-O nanoclusters with a salt of an .alpha.-hydroxy acid as well as complexed nanocluster with enhanced charge transfer interaction formed by heat treating the complexed nanocluster. The invention also relates to compositions for protection against ultraviolet radiation, in which the nanoclusters are used with common topic carriers to produce the desired light protection factor level. The disclosure also covers the method for producing the nanocluster through hydrolysis of a titanium alkoxide and subsequent reaction of the hydrolyzed alkoxide with a tin halogenide, as well as complexation and if necessary malleablization of the material obtained. Said nanoclusters can be used in cosmetics, paints, enamels or synthetic materials.

L'invention concerne des nanoclusters de Ti-Sn-O stabilisés, obtenus par formation de complexes de nanoclusters avec un sel d'un acide .alpha.-hydroxy, ainsi que des complexes de nanoclusters présentant une interaction élevée de transfert de charge, formés par traitement thermique des complexes de nanoclusters. L'invention concerne également des compositions pour la protection contre les rayonnements ultraviolets, dans lesquelles les nanoclusters sont utilisés avec des excipients topiques usuels dans une quantité permettant d'obtenir le niveau du facteur de protection solaire souhaité. En outre, l'invention concerne un procédé de production desdits nanoclusters par hydrolyse acide d'un alcoxyde de titane puis par réaction de l'alcoxyde hydrolysé avec un halogénure d'étain, par formation de complexes et éventuellement traitement thermique du matériau obtenu. Ces nanoclusters sont utilisés dans les produits cosmétiques, les peintures, les émaux ou les matières plastiques.
