A method of controlling the alignment of a tidal stream energy device is provided. The method includes the steps of: providing a reference profile for the variation of tidal current velocity with time at the tidal stream energy device; measuring a profile for the present variation of tidal current velocity with time at the tidal stream energy device; correlating the reference and measured profiles to identify a period of slack water; and changing the alignment of the tidal stream energy device during the identified period of slack water so that the device is appropriately aligned to generate energy from a following period of tidal flow.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de commande de l'alignement d'un dispositif à énergie marémotrice. Le procédé consiste à : élaborer un profil de référence de variation de la vitesse du courant de marée en fonction du temps pour le dispositif d'énergie marémotrice; mesurer un profil de variation actuelle de la vitesse de courant de marée en fonction du temps du dispositif d'énergie marémotrice; corréler le profil de référence et le profil mesuré afin d'identifier une période d'étale; et modifier l'alignement du dispositif à énergie marémotrice au cours de la période identifiée d'étale de telle sorte que le dispositif soit aligné de manière appropriée pour générer une énergie à partir d'une période suivante de flux de marée.
