The present invention provides for an isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding a member of the TIE ligand family. The present invention also provides for an isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding TIE ligand-3 or TIE ligand-4. In addition, the invention provides for a receptor body which specifically binds TIE ligand-3 or TIE ligand-4. The invention also provides an antibody which specifically binds TIE ligand-3 or TIE ligand-4. The invention further provides for an antagonist of TIE. The invention also provides for therapeutic compositions as well as a method of blocking blood vessel growth, a method of promoting neovascularization, a method of promoting the growth or differentiation of a cell expressing the TIE receptor, a method of blocking the growth or differentiation of a cell expressing the TIE receptor and a method of attenuating or preventing tumor growth in a human.
La présente invention a pour objet une molécule d'acide nucléique isolée codant un membre de la famille de ligands TIE (Tyrosine-kinase à domaines d'homologie Ig et EGF). Elle a également pour objet une molécule d'acide nucléique isolée codant le ligand-3 TIE ou le ligand-4 TIE. De plus, la présente invention porte sur un corps récepteur se liant spécifiquement au ligand-3 TIE ou au ligand-4 TIE et sur un antagoniste de TIE. Elle porte également sur des compositions pharmaceutiques ainsi que sur un procédé de blocage du développement d'un vaisseau sanguin, un procédé pour stimuler la néovascularisation, un procédé pour stimuler le développement ou la différentiation d'une cellule exprimant le récepteur de TIE, un procédé de blocage de la croissance ou de la différentiation d'une cellule exprimant le récepteur de TIE et un procédé d'atténuation ou de prévention de la croissance d'une tumeur chez l'homme.
