A floor tie-down anchor for securing freight during transport is provided. The tie-down anchor is an L-shaped bracket having a pair of legs that form an angle relative to each other, and one of the legs has at least one aperture defined therethrough. A system and method for securing freight to a transport vehicle are also provided. The system includes a first tie-down anchor and a second tie- down anchor attached to the floor of a transport vehicle, and each of the tie-down anchors has at least one aperture defined threrethrough. The system further including a retaining strap having a connecting mechanism attached to each end of the strap, and the apertures of the tie-down anchors are adapted to receive the connecting mechanisms of the strap. The method of securing freight to a transport vehicle includes providing a floor. First and second tie-down anchors are attached to the floor, and each of the tie-down anchors has at least two apertures of different shapes defined therethrough. The method also includes positioning a strap across a portion of the freight and securing the opposing ends of the strap to the tie-down anchors, and further includes adjusting the strap to secure the freight to the transport vehicle.
La présente description concerne un dispositif permettant d'arrimer des marchandises pendant leur transport. Le dispositif d'arrimage consiste en un support en forme de L doté d'une paire de montants qui forment un angle l'un par rapport à l'autre, l'un des montants ayant au moins une ouverture. Le document traite également du système et de la méthode utilisés pour arrimer les marchandises à un véhicule de transport. Le système comprend un premier et un deuxième dispositif d'arrimage fixés au plancher d'un véhicule de transport, chaque dispositif comportant au moins une ouverture. Le système comprend aussi une sangle de retenue munie d'un mécanisme d'accrochage fixé à chaque extrémité. Les ouvertures des dispositifs d'arrimage sont conçus pour recevoir les mécanismes d'accrochage de la sangle. La méthode d'arrimage des marchandises au véhicule de transport suppose l'utilisation du plancher du véhicule. Le premier et le deuxième dispositif d'arrimage sont fixés au plancher, chacun des dispositifs comportant au moins deux ouvertures de forme différentes délimitées. La méthode prévoit également l'installation d'une sangle en travers d'une partie des marchandises et l'accrochage des extrémités opposées de la sangle aux dispositifs d'arrimage. La méthode prévoit aussi l'ajustement de la sangle pour immobiliser les marchandises dans le véhicule.
