ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hook according to the present invention for hitching a tie comprises an anchorage block to receive and secure a tie and a part forming an open hooking loop. The open hooking loop has a first arm secured to the anchorage block and a second arm connected to the first arm by a hinge portion spaced from the anchorage block which allows positioning of the arms to form a closed loop in one position and movable to a second position where the end of the second arm is remote from said anchorage block to permit hitching of the hook. The second arm has a gripping member remote From the hinge to permit closing of the hooking loop adjacent the block. This structure simplifies hooking of a tie as the arms are movable to provide a wide opening to allow hitching of the hook to a bar of a roof rack or other structure. This is in contrast to the prior art arrangements which have a narrow opening to permit hitching.
