A railway tie plate has a rigid member with a bottom, a top and a rail receiving channel on the top. A rigid lip extending along one side of the channel is cantilevered over the channel and serves to prevent lifting of the rail on one side of the channel. When a rail is installed on the tie plate, the base of the rail fits in the channel and the lip projects over one edge of the base, inhibiting lifting thereof.

Cette invention concerne une selle de rail rigide comportant une semelle, une face de dessus et, dans cette face, une cannelure recevant le rail. Une lèvre rigide longeant un côté de la cannelure sert à prévenir le soulèvement du rail d'un côté. Lorsque le rail est placé sur la selle de rail, son patin se loge dans la cannelure, la lèvre étant en surplomb au-dessus d'une des rives de la semelle, empêchant ainsi le soulèvement du rail.
