The present invention provides a process for the manufacture of a neck-tie having an irregularly shaped outline defined by a design provided on the front apron of the tie which process comprises in any order the steps of i) providing a design with an irregularly shaped outline on a fabric; ii) cutting the having shaped outline of the tie from the fabric; and iii) providing means for securing the tie around a wearer's neck. The design may be printed on the fabric for example by a silk screen printing process or by a photographic thermal dye transfer method comprising the steps of: i) obtaining an image of an object to form the design for the front apron of the tie; ii) xerographically producing on a transfer sheet a reverse image of the design in heat transferable dyes; and iii) heat transferring the reverse image from the transfer sheet to a fabric from which the tie will be produced.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication de cravate dont le panneau frontal possède une forme irrégulière. Le procédé consiste à: i) élaborer un motif de forme irrégulière sur un tissu; ii) découper le tissu suivant la forme irrégulière; et iii) doter la cravate d'un moyen de fixation afin de pouvoir l'attacher autour du cou d'une personne. Le motif peut être imprimé sur le tissu, par exemple à l'aide d'un procédé de sérigraphie ou Kodachrome comprenant les étapes suivantes: i) obtention d'une image destinée à former le motif du panneau frontal de la cravate; ii) production d'une image inversée du motif sur une feuille de transfert par xérographie à l'aide de teintes transférables à chaud; et iii) transfert à chaud de l'image inversée de la feuille de transfert sur le tissu permettant d'obtenir la cravate.
