ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A flooring tile made of rubber or plastics material is generally rectangular or square and has a plurality of circular bosses in relief, the bosses are arranged in rows parallel to the side edges of the tile, bosses of each row being offset in relation to bosses of the adjacent rows by half the separation between adjacent bosses in a row so that the rows of bosses can be spaced more closely together. The side edge of the tile have a sinuous outline following the outline of the adjacent bosses; the outline of the two opposite edges which run parallel to the rows of bosses is less pronouncedly sinuous than that of the two opposite side edges which run transverse to the rows of bosses. Opposite parallel side edges are complementary so that like such tiles can be fitted together, interlocked against relative slippage, and the junction between adjacent tiles is inconspicuous since the line tends to be obscured by the bosses. - 1 -
