Abstract of the disclosure The invention relates to a timber support to be used in transport vehicles for timber, which support, on both sides of the vehicle, comprises a post in two parts arranged telescopically inside each other. In order to be able to adjust and lock the parts of the post in a rapid, secure and simple way a separate locking device is mounted between the two parts of the post, which device locks the parts firmly relative to each other. The locking device comprises a body and a disc-like rotatable clamping piece, which, when being rotated, rises axially from the surface of the body of the locking device and presses against the other one of the two parts of the post, which clamping piece may be rotated through the outer part portion of the post.
