Digital time converter (10) comprising a coarse measuring circuit (15) and a fine measuring circuit (17). The fine measuring circuit allows the accurate determination of the temporal position of an event inside a period of the time base, by interpolation or averaging of sinusoids in quadrature (13, 14), sampled (I i, Q i) coincidentally with a burst of impulses (8) generated by the converter's triggering circuit.
