A time-temperature indicator device provides a visually observable indication of the cumulative thermal exposure of an object. The device includes a substrate having a diffusely light-reflective porous matrix and a backing. The backing includes on its surface a viscoelastic indicator material for contacting the substrate and a barrier material for substantially inhibiting the lateral flow of viscoelastive indicator material between the substrate and the backing.

L'invention concerne un indicateur de temps-température qui offre une indication visuelle de l'exposition à la chaleur globale d'un objet. Ce dispositif comprend un substrat présentant une matrice poreuse à réflexion lumineuse diffuse et un support. Ce dernier comprend sur sa surface un matériau indicateur viscoélastique permettant de mettre en contact le substrat et un matériau barrière conçu pour inhiber sensiblement l'écoulement latéral du matériau indicateur viscoélastique entre le substrat et le support.
