An apparatus for storing a medicament for a person comprises a medicament storage unit and a separate, portable notification unit. The medicament storage unit has at least one chamber for storing and dispensing doses of the medicament and a transmitter. The portable notification unit has a receiver for receiving a signal from the transmitter, a signalling device for emitting a signal that is capable of human detection to indicate that a dose of the medicament should be taken and a power supply. The apparatus also has a timing circuit associated with the transmitter and the signalling device for monitoring a predetermined period of time between two doses of the medicament and causing the signalling device to emit said signal at the end of the period. An initialization circuit is also provided for actuating the timing means when the first dose of the medicament is dispensed from the apparatus.
Appareil pour conserver un médicament, comprenant une unité de stockage du médicament et une unité de communication portative séparée. L'unité de stockage comporte au moins un compartiment pour la conservation du médicament et sa distribution en doses, ainsi qu'un transmetteur. L'unité de communication portative possède : un récepteur qui reçoit un signal d'un transmetteur; un dispositif de signalisation émettant un signal capable de déceler chez une personne la dose d'un médicament à administrer; une source d'alimentation. L'appareil comporte également un circuit de synchronisation associé au transmetteur et au dispositif de signalisation pour suivre l'opération pendant une période de temps déterminée d'avance entre deux doses de médicaments, et déclenchant l'émission du signal par le dispositif à la fin de la période. De plus, un circuit d'initialisation permet d'actionner un dispositif de chronométrage lorsque la première dose de médicament sort du distributeur.
