ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A timing mechanism comprising a power drive having a cam coupled thereto to be driven thereby. The cam includes a sharp drop contour. An actuator engages the cam to quickly drop at the sharp drop contour, with a stop quickly limiting the drop. An alarm is also provided. A spring biased striker is pivotly carried on the actuator and engages the alarm whereby the striker drops with the actuator and continues dropping after the actuator engages the stop to strike the alarm.
