A stable tinted hydrogel ophthalmic device and a process for producing tinted ophthalmic devices comprising: (a) applying a first col-orant composition comprising at least one non--crosslinked binding co-polymer, at least one pigment, dye or mixture thereof and at least one print-ing solvent to a surface of an ophthalmic device mold; (b) adding up to an amount required to pre-pare an ophtalmic device, and over the non--crosslinked binding co-polymer of step (b), an un-cured hydrogel formulation, wherein said hydrogel formulation, when cured, has a oxygen permeability of greater than about 50 barrer; and (c) curing said hydrogel formulation to form a stable, tinted ophthalmic device.

L'invention concerne un dispositif ophtalmique d'hydrogel teinté stable et un procédé pour produire des dispositifs ophtalmiques teintés qui comporte : (a) l'application d'une première composition colorante comportant au moins un copolymère de liaison non réticulé, au moins un pigment, un colorant ou un mélange de ceux-ci et au moins un solvant d'impression sur une surface d'un moule de dispositif ophtalmique ; (b) l'ajout jusqu'à une quantité requise pour préparer un dispositif ophtalmique, et sur le polymère de liaison non réticulé de l'étape (b), d'une formulation d'hydrogel non durci, ladite formulation d'hydrogel, lorsqu'elle est durcie, ayant une perméabilité à l'oxygène supérieure à environ 50 barrer, et (c) le durcissement de la formulation d'hydrogel pour former un dispositif ophtalmique teinté stable.
