A tire structure (16) includes a secondary chamber (32) formed between a tire casing (38) and road engaging tire tread (14). A first air passage (20) is provided from the tire interior to the secondary chamber (32) and a second air passage (24) through a side wall of the tire casing (38) is substantially adjacent a bead portion of the tire. An air line (22) extends between the two air passages (20, 24) and is bonded to the interior side wall of the casing (38), and a valve unit (26) is associated with the second passage (24) to provide controlled air inlet and relief to the chamber (32).

L'invention concerne une structure pneumatique comprenant une deuxième chambre formée entre la carcasse du pneu et la chaussée en contact avec la bande de roulement. Un premier passage d'air va de l'intérieur du pneumatique vers la deuxième chambre et un deuxième passage d'air traversant une paroi latérale de la carcasse de pneu est sensiblement adjacent à une partie talon du pneumatique. Une conduite d'air comprimé s'étendant entre les deux passages d'air est reliée à la paroi latérale interne de la carcasse. Et une unité valve associée au deuxième passage permet de contrôler l'entrée d'air dans cette chambre et la sortie d'air de cette chambre.
