A tire with reduced tire noise includes a tread having a plurality of base pitches placed about the circumference of the tire in at least one circumferential section. According to one aspect of the invention, the base pitches have three different pitch lengths which form a pitch sequence around the circumference of the tire in each circumferential section. The base pitches are arranged such that the transitions between the base pitches with the smallest pitch lengths to the base pitches with the largest pitch lengths are between about 15% and 30% of the total number of transitions between base pitches in the pitch sequence. Additionally, the smallest and largest base pitches each comprise between about 35% and 40% of the total number of base pitches around the circumference of the tire. The above factors, when coupled with no more than three consecutive base pitches having the same pitch length being arranged adjacent one another, provide a tread with reduced tire noise.

Cette invention concerne un pneu à bruyance réduite dont les segments de bande de roulement sont disposés autour de du pneu selon plusieurs pas de base dans au moins une section longitudinale. Selon un aspect de l'invention, les pas de base ont trois différentes longueurs qui forment une séquence de pas autour du pneu dans chaque section longitudinale. Les pas de base sont organisés de façon que les transitions des pas de base ayant la plus faible longueur aux pas de base ayant la plus grande longueur représentent entre environ 15 % et 30 % du nombre total de transitions entre les pas de base formant la séquence susmentionnée. De plus, les pas de base de faible et de grande longueur représentent chacun entre environ 35 % et 40% de nombre total de pas de base sur la circonférence du pneu. Les paramètres ci-dessus, conjugués avec au plus trois pas de base consécutifs de même longueur disposés l'un à côté de l'autre, contribuent à réduire la bruyance du pneu.
