The tire-stacking device (800) includes a platform (417) for placing a plurality of tires side by side when the device is in a horizontal position. The device is thereafter raised by the lifting apparatus of a lift truck to a vertical position. The stack of tires is supported in this vertical position by a clamping arrangement (418) attached to the base end of the device. The clamping arrangement (418) is selectively releasable to permit an operator to deposit the stack of tires at a desired location. A hook (561) is also provided for connecting the device (800) to the lifting apparatus of a lift truck. A fork apparatus (745) is further provided to be used in cooperative arrangement with the hook (501), a pair of existing fork lift forks (720), and a lift truck to lift and transport objects. A cart apparatus (900) is also provided for facilitating the mounting and dismounting of the hook (561) to the lifting apparatus of the lift truck.
Un dispositif (800) pour empiler des pneumatiques comporte une plateforme (417) pour placer une pluralité de pneumatiques côte à côte lorsque le dispositif est dans une position horizontale. Le dispositif est ensuite basculé par un appareil de levage d'un véhicule élévateur pour le mettre dans la position verticale. L'empilement de pneumatiques est tenu dans cette position verticale par un dispositif de verrouillage (418) fixé à l'extrémité de base du dispositif. L'opérateur peut ouvrir, lorsqu'il le souhaite, le dispositif de verrouillage (418) pour déposer l'empilement de pneumatiques à l'emplacement souhaité.
