A tissue collection lid for a specimen cup configured to prevent escape of fluid and/or tissue from the specimen cup during ejection of the fluid and/or tissue from a sampling instrument, such as a biopsy needle. In one embodiment, the tissue collection lid includes a rim and a flange, the rim including an upper section and a lower section, the flange including a plurality of slits extending radially outward from an aperture in a mid-region thereof toward the rim. The rim defines an opening therethrough and the flange is positioned within the opening.

Ce rebord définit une ouverture dans laquelle la collerette est positionnée.
