The present invention relates to a phantom device that simplifies usage and testing of a low intensity light imaging system. The phantom device includes a body and a light source internal to the body. The body comprises an optically selective material designed to at least partially resemble the optical behavior of mammalian tissue. Imaging the light source or phantom device may incorporate known properties of the optically selective material. Testing methods described herein assess the performance of a low-level light imaging system (such as the software) by processing light output by the phantom device and comparing the output against known results. The assessment builds a digital representation of the light source or test device and compares one or more components of the digital representation against one or more known properties for the light source or the test device.
L'invention concerne un dispositif fantôme simplifiant l'utilisation et le test d'un système d'imagerie de faible intensité lumineuse. Le dispositif fantôme comprend un corps et une source lumineuse interne au corps. Celui-ci comprend un matériau sélectif sur le plan optique conçu pour au moins ressembler partiellement au comportement optique d'un tissu mammifère. L'imagerie de la source lumineuse ou du dispositif fantôme peut incorporer des propriétés connues du matériau sélectif sur le plan optique. L'invention concerne également des procédés de test permettant d'évaluer les performances d'un système d'imagerie de faible intensité lumineuse (tel que le logiciel) par traitement de la sortie lumineuse du dispositif fantôme et par comparaison de la sortie avec des résultats connus. L'évaluation constitue une représentation numérique de la source lumineuse ou du dispositif test et permet de comparer un ou plusieurs composants de la représentation numérique à une ou plusieurs propriétés connues de la source lumineuse ou du dispositif test.
