ABSTRACT The plasminogen activator is a N-terminal peptide of plasminogen linked to t-PA. Tile DNA encoding amino acid sequence of the t-PA is also disclosed as well as the expression vector comprising the DNA. Also disclosed is a host cell transformed with such expression vector. A process of producing the plasminogen actuator as well as the pharma- ceutical composition containing same are described. The tissue plasminogen activator has a strong activity for converting plasminogen into plasmin that degrades the fibrin network of blood clot to form soluble products and therefore is useful as a thrombolytic agent.
