Transgenes encoding exogenous proteins are stably integrated into embryonic stem cells and are present in the somatic tissue of transgenic or chimeric birds. The transgenes encode exogenous proteins and are expressed in any of endodermal, ectodermal, mesodermal, or extra embryonic tissue. Tissue specificity is provided by selecting the content of the transgene accordingly. Transgenic birds whose genome is comprised of trangene derived exogenous DNA express exogenous proteins with tissue specificity, and specifically express exogenous proteins in the tubular gland cells of the oviduct to concentrate exogenous proteins in egg white.
Des transgènes codant pour des protéines exogènes sont intégrés de façon stable dans des cellules souches embryonnaires et sont présents dans le tissu somatique d'oiseaux transgéniques ou chimères. Les transgènes codent pour des protéines exogènes et sont exprimés dans un tissu quelconque parmi l'endoderme, l'ectoderme, les mésoderme ou dans un tissu extra embryonnaire. La spécificité tissulaire est apportée par sélection du contenu du transgène. Les oiseaux transgéniques dont le génome contient un ADN exogène dérivé du transgène expriment des protéines exogènes avec une spécificité tissulaire, et expriment spécifiquement des protéines exogènes dans les cellules des glandes tubulaires de l'oviducte afin de concentrer les protéines exogènes dans le blanc d'oeuf.
