Disclosed is an implantable medical device comprised of a tubular, radially compressible, axially flexible and radially self-expandable structure including at least one elongate filament, wherein the filament consists of titanium or titanium alloy which includes at least about 68 weight percent titanium. The titanium alloy is for example Ti-13Zr-13Nb. The medical device has desirable characteristics such as low elastic modulus and moderate strength.
