572981 ABSTRACT New compositions and methods of preparing hydrolyzed titanium chelates are disclosed. New chelates of alkoxy titanates with dialkanolamines in 1/1 mole ratios have high activity as catalysts and exhibit surprising chemical characteristics as reactive intermediates. New, partially hydrolyzed chelates are water soluble, chemically reactive and highly active as esterification catalysts.
