ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to new alkoxy-titanium(IV)- chelates and to the use thereof in printing inks based upon nitrocellulose or other cellulose-ester derivatives. The new chelates are characterized in that they contain citric- acid alkyl-esters as chelate-formers. Like other titanium- chelates, they delay the known catalytic action of titanium components during cross-linking reactions. When used in printing inks, the new titanium-chelates, and alcoholic solutions thereof, have the advantage of possessing only a small amount of inherent colour, so that they scarcely discolour the printing inks. Another advantage of the new chelates is that they also do not interact with antioxidants based upon phenol and they may therefore be used for printing inks applied to a polymer background with such antioxidants, with no fear of discolouration.
