An object of this invention is to provide a titanium-containing agglomerate for producing granular metallic iron. The agglomerate is useful for obtaining a high yield of high-quality granular metallic iron in a size that is suitable for handling by using an iron source containing titanium oxide and other gangue components and heating at a relatively low temperature. The agglomerate contains: an iron source including titanium oxide of at least 5 mass % but less than 10 mass % in terms of TiO2-equivalent content; and a carbonaceous reductant, wherein the agglomerate has a chemical composition satisfying a condition set forth in formulas (1) to (3) below, [CaO]/[SiO2] = 0.6 to 1.2 (1) [Al2O3]/[SiO2] = 0.3 to 1.0 (2) [TiO2]/([CaO] + [SiO2] + [MgO] + [Al2O3]) < 0.45 (3). Each of [CaO], [SiO2], [Al2O3], [TiO2] and [MgO] represents content (mass % on dry basis) of each component in the agglomerate.
La présente invention porte sur un agglomérat permettant la fabrication du fer métallique granulaire qui contient de l'oxyde de titane et qui est utile pour l'obtention d'un rendement élevé en fer métallique granulaire de grade élevé en une taille qui est appropriée pour un traitement, par chauffage à une température comparativement basse et à l'aide d'un matériau ferreux contenant de l'oxyde de titane et d'autres composants de gangue. L'agglomérat comprend : un matériau ferreux comprenant de l'oxyde de titane en une quantité équivalente à au moins 5 % en masse et inférieure à 10 % en masse de TiO2 ; et un agent de réduction carboné. La composition chimique de l'agglomérat remplit les conditions données ci-dessous dans les formules (1) à (3). [CaO]/[SiO2] = 0,6 à 1,2 (1) [Al2O3]/[SiO2] = 0,3 à 1,0 (2) [TiO2]/([CaO]+[SiO2]+[MgO]+[Al2O3]) 2], [Al2O3], [TiO2], et [MgO] représentent les quantités (en % en masse sur une base sèche) de chaque composant respectif compris dans l'agglomérat.
