ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure herein describes a tobacco chopper which comprises a body having an elongated chamber to receive tobacco leaves or shreds therein and a chopping plate pivotally mounted at the exit end of the chamber. The plate is provided with a handle allowing to be moved into a series of reciprocating strokes and a blocking surface which covers the exit end of the chamber so as to block the tobacco as it is compacted in the chamber. A blade is mounted to the blocking surface for cutting the compacted tobacco as it is forced through the chamber by a pusher implement.
