ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention is a filter for tobacco smoke containing a fibrous ion exchange resin, and also a fibrous ion exchange resin useful for making such a filter in which at least a part of the fiber is fibrillated or split. Using the filter of the invention makes it possible to remove very efficiently from tobacco smoke substances harmful to the human body, such as ionic substances, polar substances, carcinogenic substances, mutagenic substances, as well as nicotine and tar.
