This invention presents the method of constructing waterproof mittens for young children. The hand and thumb areas of the mitten comprise of polyester fleece outer and inner pieces and a lining of nylon waterproof material. An attached strip forms the tie; both ends of which go around the wrist and are tied on the top side of the mitten to secure it on the child's hand. Also, the cuff with a zippered opening is strategically placed, enabling an adult to easily guide the young child's hand into the mitten.
