The purpose of this protective cap being to reduce the wear of the boot. The toe cap protector comprises a member made of a relatively wearproof material, the member having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface being adapted to be fixed to the boot and the outer surface being adapted to be in contact with the object. The member has a substantially concave configuration,a central section and a pair of side sections extending integrally from at least a portion of the central section on each side of the central section. The protector has a lower peripheral edge, each one of the side sections has an upper peripheral edge diverging outwardly from the lower peripheral edge of the protector, and the central section has a pair of upwardly diverging side edges, whereby the upper peripheral edges of the side sections and the side edges of the central section define a pair of substantially "V"-shaped cut-out sections.
