A B S T R A C T A dual flushing machanism for a toilet consisting of a support member, a flushing lever arm, a full flush mechanism and a partial flush mechanism. The support member is mounted in a single passage extending through the wall of the water storage tank. The flushing lever arm at one end is pivotally mounted at the inner end of the support and a second end connectible to a flushing valve. The full flushing mechanism has a first manually engageable means accessible from the exterior of the water tank and a first actuator lever arm mounted within the water storage tank. Movement of the manually engageable means causes movement of the lever arm to move the flushing mechanism to a fully open position. The partial flushing mechanism includes a second manually engageable mechanism accessible from the exterior of the water storage tank and a second actuator lever mounted within the water storage tank and operable to engage the flushing lever to open the flushing lever to an intermediate raised position to permit partial flushing.
