ABSTRACT A mechanism for raising and lowering disabled per- sons on a toilet seat is provided. The toilet seat is mounted on a carriage which is operated by water-powered cylinders connected to the closet water supply and the pressure is closely controlled. The seat is moved vertically throughout its travel to permit the user to be moved to a position where he or she can carry their own weight and move onto and off the seat under their own power.
