The toilet seat actuator of the present invention includes a foot pedal pivotally mounted on a base. The base is mountable to a floor surface adjacent a toilet bowl. The foot pedal has first and second opposite ends, a rigid linkage arm rotatably mountable at a first end of the linkage arm to the first end of the foot pedal, a second end of the linkage arm rotatably mounted to a rigid cross-members. The second end of the linkage arm is opposite to the first end of the linkage arm. The cross-member is mountable to a toilet seat when the toilet seat is pivotally mounted to the toilet bowl
